Memories….

I have been massaging now for over 20 years both in private practice and also chair massaging in the corporate field. My chair massage career has not only been in office space but has taken me all over The Netherlands to theatres, arenas and I even featured in a TV programme (just!)

Here are some that I particularly remember:

Tutus and ballet shoes
In the early years I got a call from Het Nationale Ballet to ask if I was free to come and give the dancers a chair massage in Het Muziektheater in Amsterdam– I once wanted to be a ballet dancer but this is the nearest I got, massaging in and amongst the tutus and ballet shoes!

Between baked beans & tinned goods
This next one is not so glamorous but I remember it well – I massaged in the storage room of a restaurant! I had to scramble down through a trap door with my chair and there, amongst the baked beans and the rest of the tinned goods I massaged the employees – a present from the boss as they had had a busier than usual week.

Leaving from platform 4
To mark the installation of new sofas at Amsterdam Amstel station, I was hired by the Nederlandse Spoorwegen to massage train passengers in the ticket hall – I have no idea if the sofas are still there!

Fame at last!
When “Je Leven in de Steigers” (literally: “Your Life in the Scaffolding”) – a home renovation programme on RTL4, was on TV around 2005,  I went to Den Helder with a team of other massage therapists and we massaged the builders. When it eventually aired on television I was on screen for about 1 second – LOL!!

Before she was famous
And before Caro Emerald became really well known – she was performing at a corporate event (Biddingshuizen) so after I was done I saw her for free!
